Ok, so the average person has had a respite from inflation this year and because of that there will be no COLA (Cost Of Living Adjustment) for those on Social Security this year and maybe next year.
How many of the recipients who get no increase will buy the Democrats saying itwas not their fault – that the bill that caused it was passed years ago?
The Dems were planning in the Health Care plan to “counsel” elderly about how to decide to die and save the system the cost of helping them stay alive and healthy.
The Dems have already engineered a tanking economy that stripped them of the value of their major assets – their homes and their stock portfolios.
They have convinced thousands of people to junk perfectly usable low cost cars that people on social security might need to buy since they will not have the extra income to afford better.
Of course the Dems will probably try to push through a special COLA so that they can try to buy the votes of the elderly. And if it does not pass they will blame the Rebublicans.
How is it with global warming I keep hearing how until just recently NH has skipped summer, that all the reports I hear are that nearly the entire country is having a colder than usual summer.
When there were an abnormal number of hurricanes including Katrina we were told that was a sign of global warming, that we would see high numbers of strong hurricanes every year – that Katrina and rita were just the beginning. But since Rita there have been fewer hurricanes each year and no severe ones. This year the first hurricane – Bill didn’t come along until late August.
Denver Colorado has seen 181 fewer cooling degree days than average (a measure of how much need there is for AC) and since June 1 they have even had 97 more heating degree days than average. The precipitation so far this year is nearly 5 inches higher tha average – and I fail to see how that is a bad thing in an area that is on average only slightly above desert conditions.
The “Scientists” who were claiming that the polar ice caps are certain to disappear quickly have just realised their projections were “a little off” as in they were totally wrong. They concluded that the ice caps will not disappear and have survived higher temperatures than the worst projections they have.
So, we now know that the only reason for Cap and tax is the tax – and that the power to tax is simply power over the lives of the subjects.
Colorado has a recently built toll road E-470 that skirts the east side of the metro area and can mean half hour or more saved on the trip between south of the city to north of the city. It is not a cheap toll. I am not a fan of toll roads – but if they exist they should at least be efficient. This one seems to be (although the massive reconstruction going on with it being only a few years old makes me wonder just how well the whole system runs – maybe not as well as the toll collection part).
The interesting thing is you can either get a transponder – like an easy pass – or you can simply drive through without and they will send you a bill for the toll. As of last month you cannot stop at a booth and pay cash or stop at an automated booth and toss coins. You don’t even have to slow down. The speed limit past the toll collection points is either 65 or 70 mph.
It seems to work – we have received several bills for our sporadic trips (at first just to get to the grand kids out of town baseball games in far east Aurora – and lately to miss some nasty traffic on the evening commute) and the system seemed to always pick up our plate correctly – can’t see that they ever missed – even on the day the rain was coming down in buckets and the spray from the car in front and our own spray behind made it almost impossible for me to see to drive.
They do have a draconian method of ensuring collection – if you do not pay the bill by the due date (about two weeks after it comes in the mail) each individual toll collection amount ($1 to $2.50 each) becomes a toll evasion fine at over triple the amount of the original toll. Wouldn’t every business love to have that kind of penalty clause along with the state’s police powers, judicial system and DMV doing the enforcement?
But, it works, and makes me wonder why NH could not do the same to end the massive back ups at the toll booths? Of course the toll workers that would be replaced are state employees and anything that would end a state employee job would probably not pass in the current legislature.
In about 7 minutes I will have won the $250 million in the Powerball.
I don’t think I will announce it here – and I’ll probably disappear from the scene for a while in order to keep from being immediately hounded by everyone wanting to help me decide how to spend it. I’ll take with me those who i will actually let help spend it. If you don’t get to come along – it is a clear indictaion you are not on that short list!
A former model I never heard of before got upset over an anonymous blogger calling her a skank and maybe lying about her age? The news report wasn’t really clear on what the blogger said that got her upset.
There was a time when one requirement for being a model was being pretty. Perhaps that is no longer the case – or maybe she was prettier when she was younger. Her name was too long and hard to spell for me but you can read it here. I suspect an ex model needs to get publicity any way she can – even suing anonymous bloggers.
Obama supposedly is backing off the Public option health plan part of his Obama care.
I call BS! The reported “new” alternative is a non-profit co-op. Isn’t the Government a non-profit? Co-ops are owned by the users. So what is a Government created and run non-profit co-op health care plan? It is a Government run taxpayer funded Public health insurance plan in cammo!
The real Public option is what has been happening at the “Town Hall” meetings – angry citizens showing up to ask pointed questions and preventing the Obama care steam roller from moving ahead!
I watched the video of the two MSNBC Dolts talking about the guy openly carrying in Portsmouth. Neither of them mentioned the sign – probably because they have never read anything from Thomas Jefferson, certainly not his quote about the tree of liberty needing to be watered with the blood of patriots or tyrants.
If they had realised that was the source Quote for the sign he held they would certainly have concluded – wrongly – that the guy wanted to “water the tree of Liberty” with Obama’s blood. That would require Obama being a tyrant.

Of course I believe that the true meaning is that this guy is willing to make what ever sacrifice necessary to preserve Liberty – even to the point of shedding his own blood, the blood of a patriot.
The economy is coming back slowly – despite the best efforts of Obama Reid and Pelosi. The greatest threat to the Capitalist economy is the socialist agenda in DC. My company is selling more stuff to people drilling for oil and gas – mostly over seas. Cash for clunkers is puting new cars on the road but makes afordable used cars harder to find – the ones lots of people depend on in order to not go broke paying car payments.
Coolest summer in years, a summer that never started in New England, a growing real consensus of real scientists debunking Algore’s crap.
And now the crown Jewell of O’s socialist agenda – nationalized health care – Obamacare – is looking like it is on the ropes and his approval rating is tanking.
