The only man to be tossed out of office over his birthplace?
The first President to be a lame duck during his first year in office?
Or just anything else that is possible?
Because clearly what he would rather be is impossible.
The gifts just keep rolling in.
I’m not sure it will all fit in Santa’s Sleigh.
Seriously, if Obama is not actively trying to destroy this country he would have to be an imbecile. Since it seems unlikely he could be that stupid it is therefore impossible that he is not actively working to destroy the country.
So, what could he possibly be planning as his next step?
Ted Kennedy has died. He is to be buried in Arlington cemetary.

How is it with global warming I keep hearing how until just recently NH has skipped summer, that all the reports I hear are that nearly the entire country is having a colder than usual summer.
When there were an abnormal number of hurricanes including Katrina we were told that was a sign of global warming, that we would see high numbers of strong hurricanes every year – that Katrina and rita were just the beginning. But since Rita there have been fewer hurricanes each year and no severe ones. This year the first hurricane – Bill didn’t come along until late August.
Denver Colorado has seen 181 fewer cooling degree days than average (a measure of how much need there is for AC) and since June 1 they have even had 97 more heating degree days than average. The precipitation so far this year is nearly 5 inches higher tha average – and I fail to see how that is a bad thing in an area that is on average only slightly above desert conditions.
The “Scientists” who were claiming that the polar ice caps are certain to disappear quickly have just realised their projections were “a little off” as in they were totally wrong. They concluded that the ice caps will not disappear and have survived higher temperatures than the worst projections they have.
So, we now know that the only reason for Cap and tax is the tax – and that the power to tax is simply power over the lives of the subjects.
Obama and his lead henchman AG Holder are using the recent drug cartel violence in Mexico as a reason to bring back Clinton’s scary looking gun ban.
Not surprising is the drive by media contributing to the idea with inaccurate reporting. ABC, in a report on Obama and Holder planning to reinstitute the ban on scary looking SEMI-Automatic weapons, included this:
Grenades and automatic weapons are still illegal here -they are more likely from China or former Soviet states than the US. The expiration of the Clinton ban had absolutely nothing to do with what the drug cartelsare doing.
BTW – the gun above is a SEMI automatic – so is the 22 rifle I got from my grandfather at age 10 – and that 22 has other features used in the Clinton ban to describe the scary guns. Here is a picture ofone very much like it.
Democrats have been quoted as vowing not to pack “Earmarks” into the stimulus package bills they are pushing through Congress. “If it walks like a Duck…”
Among the list of state and local “infrastructure projects” that look to be the main body of what the Dems are proposing are – a “Mob Museum” in Las Vegas, new City Halls, new Town halls, expensive on ramps and probably several “bridges to nowhere”. What exactly is their definition of earmark? Must be that an earmark is something a Conservative might accuse a Democrat of pushing through to buy votes while a “local – shovel ready infrastructure project” is something a Dem can push through to buy votes in 2010.
These infrastructure projects are simply earmarks on a grand scale. Instead of packing a bill with all sorts of unrelated pork for their special interest friends, the Democrats in Congress are proposing huge bills that are 100% pork – no added “fillers”. Maybe they will really turn the process upside down and sneak some real – needed legislation into these pork barrels in the dark of night!
I have to admit I had never actually read Ayn Rand, although I intuitively believed much of what she built into her philosophy – sort of “anti-collectivism”. She pointed out that only someone with a strong value for their own “self” could lead the masses, that those who espouse selflessness and a professed devotion to the “downtrodden” can not truly achieve anything. That without those who suffer, those who feed off that suffering – the “bleeding hearts”, the “social engineers”, as a group – the Liberals – could not exist.
The Fountainhead which she began writing in the depths of the Great Depression of the 1930′s is today every bit as powerful and insightful as when first published some 55 years ago. It is long – in paperback almost 700 pages. I am sure many who have picked it up to read have given up long before they learn what the main charactors really are all about. That is too bad. It should be required reading in a required freshman class in college. The students don’t have to to adopt her philosophy, but before adopting the one most of their professors will be engulfing them with – the collectivism/socialism/liberalism that infects our colleges – they should understand the true differences between the two philosophies.
My son gave me the book as a gift at least a year ago and it sat on the shelf until something about Miss Rand caught my attention this fall. I should have read it long ago. There is the movie version – the screen play of which was written by Rand – that is greatly shortened, leaving out much of the detailed struggle between the charactors. The movie – which can be found in pieces posted to you-tube. I have hesitated on whether to post here the clip from the movie – which is in fact the climax of the whole story. I actually would prefer that you read the whole 700 pages of the book before you watch Gary Cooper protray Miss Rand’s “individual fighting the collective”. So get the book read it then come back here and click the arrow on the clip below.

American media is having difficulty looking at the taking of hostages and killing them in India as terrorist acts or as terrorists being those behind it.
CNN says “gangs of gunmen launched a murderous rampage. ” Reuters calls them militants. Even in a story Quoting the surviving “militant” saying they “wanted an Indian 9/11″ Reuters could not bring themselves to call them terrorists.
AP through Breitbart calls them “Islamic militants“. Another AP story through MyWay calls them “gunman”. The WAPO says they were “gunmen” or “militants”. The SF Chronicle headlines them as militants. At Newsweek they are just “gunmen”. Huffingtonheadlines the “massacre”, “attacks” and “asault” but only mentions a “Pakistani group” and”Elements in Pakistan”.
MSNBC called the episode “a 60 hour terror rampage” but those involved are “gunmen”, “militants”and “suspected terrorists” as if the terrorists may have lawyers who will sue for libel because their poor disadvantaged militant gunmen clients who staged a terror rampage were called terrorists – but you are safe at GE owned MSNBC – you weaseled by slipping in “suspected”.
An exception seems to be the NYT. They did not have a problem with the word “terrorist” maybe because they have seen the type close up.
Some over seas media – particularly in India called them terrorists. The Telegraph.com.uk did.The Times of India had the headline “
“THE WAR IS OVER AND WE WON:” Michael Yon just phoned from Baghdad, and reports that things are much better than he had expected, and he had expected things to be good. “There’s nothing going on. I’m with the 10th Mountain Division, and about half of the guys I’m with haven’t fired their weapons on this tour and they’ve been here eight months. And the place we’re at, South Baghdad, used to be one of the worst places in Iraq. And now there’s nothing going on. I’ve been walking my feet off and haven’t seen anything. I’ve been asking Iraqis, ‘do you think the violence will kick up again,’ but even the Iraqi journalists are sounding optimistic now and they’re usually dour.” There’s a little bit of violence here and there, but nothing that’s a threat to the general situation. Plus, not only the Iraqi Army, but even the National Police are well thought of by the populace. Training from U.S. toops has paid off, he says, in building a rapport.

ISKANDARIYA – Police found a mass grave containing at least 10 decomposed bodies, including the bodies of two women, in Iskandariya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
MAHAWEEL – Gunmen killed a man in an attack on his car on Friday in Mahaweel, 60 km (35 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
That’s it – that is all they found. A grave of unknown origin/age and a drive-by shooting. Not a war, maybe not yet the safest place on earth but check this grainy “war zone” footage – from Chicago!
