Cloned beef - to eat or to label
Posted on January 17, 2008
Ok, there are people who won’t eat meat anyway, good for them. leaves more for me!
Cloned beef with labels? Great - means some people won’t buy it just because of the label, the demand goes down so will the price - great - I get cheap steaks!
As it is I love that people won’t buy the steaks that are close to the last for sale date. The meat manager then sticks a red sticker on and knocks off a buck or so. I love cheap steaks.
Heck last night we had a top sirloin steak that was one day passed the last sale date (we bought it on that last day). I put some charcoal into our $40 WalMart BBQ grill. Vicky fried up some zucchini and she nuked me a potato. Total cost of steak dinner for two about $5. And the steaks were every bit as good as the steakhouse we went to a few days ago and dropped $35 (My son gave us a gift card for Christmas).
Cloned beef on the grill - bet it will taste just as good if not better, and if they irradiate it to extend the shelf life - that’s probably Ok too. My only concern with irradiation is it might interfere with the proper aging of the beef and everyone knows aged beef is the best.
Now, what about eating Dolly the sheep ver 22 or whatever? Nope - don’t like mutton!
