Economic stimulus plan

The Dems including Nancy Pelosi are calling for an immediate economic stimulus plan.

They have never been any good at economics and now is no different.

I agree that stimulating the economy would be a good thing but not the Pelosi way. She wants to take tax money (collected of course from those evil people and companies that are making money) and give it to low to moderate income people as “rebates”.

First, you cannot rebate something to someone who has not paid anything. The poor do not pay taxes, most have a negative income tax because of the earned income credit - which already comes from those evil people and businesses that make money.

Second, it makes no sense to give tax payer’s money to people - hoping they will spend it. If they do, it will fuel inflation negating the “stimulus” that Pelosi wants.

Want to stimulate the economy? Make the Bush tax cuts permanent to allow companies and other tax payers to see an optimistic future and invest in growing their businesses and the economy.

Go further and cut spending by the government which would reduce the need for government borrowing and thus lower interest rates, also encouraging businesses to invest for the future.

Finally, cut back on some government regulations. Make it easier for businesses to expand thus creating more private sector jobs and more tax paying - not tax draining - citizens.
