Voter fraud, miracles, seeing the future?
Posted on January 15, 2008
Maybe the tin foil hats are picking up transmissions from the future - I understand that in Europe it is already tomorrow but even that doesn’t explain this one. Democracy for NH reports:
The mainstream Italian media are reporting both the rigging of the New Hampshire primary for Senator Hillary Clinton and the official demands for a swift, accurate and impartial recount. In an article written by Marcello Foa, one of Europe’s most respected journalists, it appears that vote tallies for all Democratic candidates as well as Republicans were reduced by Diebold vote-counting machines.
Now, in case you don’t see the difficulty with those “facts” read on:
In an analysis of the hand-counted ballots, the influential Milanese newspaper - Il Giornale, reports that all Democratic candidates except Senator Hillary Clinton made gains when the New Hampshire ballots were manually tabulated, while Senator Clinton made inexplicably large gains where ballots were tabulated by computerized scanners.
Still don’t see the untruths here? Keep reading:
According to the report, Ron Paul should have finished third in the Republican primary rather than fifth. Thus, it would appear that both Barack Obama and Ron Paul were the primary targets of vote-rigging operations in New Hampshire.
Ok - enough already. They state that there were discrepancies between the machine tabulated counts and the recounts. They claim paul was really third! They claim that in the hand counting all the Democrats except Hillary gained votes.
There has not yet been a hand recount!!!! Check the Secretary of State’s web site - The recount starts Wednesday - if the two candidates asking for recounts actually pony up the money. Just like in 2004 when Nader wanted a recount, the candidate requesting the count has to pay.
The ‘04 recount was specifically to try to prove that a problem existed with the Diebold machines. The Secretary of state allowed those districts to be counted first and when there were no huge discrepancies the recount was called off by the Nader crew. The only changes that occurred wer what is expected - a very few voters made marks that the machines could not read but that people could make out - like circling the box rather than filling in the box, or marking one box, scribbling it out marking the other and writing “I meant to vote for this one”. Generally these errors are very small and add similar numbers of votes to both sides of the ballot. The machines are actually more accurate than many hand counts.
Of course Democracy for NH should know that the recounts have not taken place - they must have decided the European press knows something that the State of NH doesn’t, the results of the recounts that have yet to start.
I’ll go WAY out on a limb here and state that Ron Paul’s vote tally after the recount (assuming they bother to do the full state recount this time) will not change. Even assigning him the 1743 write ins for Hillary on GOP ballots (talk about confused voters) will not move him ahead of Rudy.
