Gunrunner’s return
Posted on September 23, 2007

Early Sunday morning 7 buses pulled up to the waiting crowd of family members and friends awaiting the warriors’ return. The HMLA 269 (Marine Light attack helicopter squadron - Cobras and Heuy’s) have just returned from the latest deployment in Iraq. My son, a Captain, is one of the Cobra pilots. It was his third deployment, the first since he got married. The reunion was touching, as were all the others.
One of the children, who amazingly were still awake and going strong, was only 7 days old. Lots of cute kids.
I’m now looking forward to finding out what ot was like this time, I could see he lost weight - doesn’t really like the food over there. Speaking of food - time to head over to their house so he can try out the new BBQ grill his honey bought as a welcome home gift.
